iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 from iRobot is a robot vacuum for entry-level use that works well on carpets with a low pile or bare floor. It has good suction and cleans up most debris, though it isn't able to handle bigger debris like rice or sand. It is capable of cleaning pet hair, but is not as resistant to knots as premium Roomba models like the I6 and j7.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It has three buttons on its top cover. "Clean," which triggers a cleaning process, 'Dock,' which places it in its charging station, and 'Spot,' which activates the targeted cleaning. You can control it using an app on your smartphone that lets you to schedule cycles, stop/start them, and alter settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than some other models, but it can reach most corners and crevices. It has a large bin that makes it easy to empty. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers, which allows you to make the robot avoid certain areas, or even stop cleaning altogether to avoid it from getting stuck.

Although it's not the most efficient model for its price however, it's superior to many other alternatives. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with superior cleaning performance for both bare and low-pile carpets. It also follows an efficient cleaning route and has a longer battery life. It is also more durable, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, is priced less over its life and charges faster than 694.

You may also want to consider other models from the iRobot range, including the v7 or 981. They're more expensive, but they are significantly better than the 694 in terms of cleaning efficiency on both low- and bare floors, follow an efficient cleaning path, have a bigger dirt compartment, are more efficient to charge, can move more easily, and are easier to pair with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot with a budget does a decent job on hard floors as well as carpets with low pile. Its combinator brush gets to corners and edges, and it automatically increases suction as soon as it detects carpet. It also does an excellent job of cleaning dirt from mid-pile carpet. The IQ's small footprint for docks and the self-emptying feature are great features. However, if you want to change the floor levels on the map or set no-go zones, you'll have manually reset it to do this, which can be somewhat of an inconvenience.

The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation capabilities however it doesn't have no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. Its intelligent-pathing navigational system gives you superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, although it tends to get caught up on rug tassels, and its iHome speaker lets you control the robot with voice commands.

During our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to eliminate lots of debris on floors that were not bare and a good amount of medium-pile rug. It was a little less effective on shag carpets where it struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded in the fibers. It did a good job of navigating chair legs, tight spaces, and the base of a wooden IKEA step stool. It was a little slower on floors that were not paved, but it recovered speed and performed better than other robots we evaluated.

The IQ is a better option for most users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on a charge, and is capable of maneuvering itself around obstacles. It comes with a mopping tool that can clean up sticky mess. The iRobot is, however, is better built, has fewer components that require replacement or maintenance and has lower ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion application. It is able to continue cleaning where it left off even if its battery runs out before it's finished. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is a major benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The eufy RoboVac 11S isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum available, but it does offer excellent cleaning power at an affordable price. It's designed for those who don't require a complex mapping system or an app to control the device. The robot is capable of running for up to an hour and includes a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek, with an upper deck of tempered glass that is covered with plastic, which is finished to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice aesthetic different from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy11S was excellent at picking up larger particles and fine dust on hard flooring. However, it struggled to give medium and high pile carpets an effective deep clean. The device is capable to hit people and furniture in its route. However, it can detect obstacles with sensors. If it encounters them it ceases to move and emits an alarm so that you can manually guide it through the obstacle before getting it back to work.

Another excellent aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the floor type and level of dirt. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S in the direction you'd like it to move.

Single Room Mode is a great option for those with small furniture in the area you want to vacuum. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.

You can also choose Edge Cleaning which reduces the amount of time in each location to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. With this option, the eufy will move in a spiral pattern, tackling corners and edges to ensure a clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance on bare floors is also exceptional. It can pick up rice and other small particles with ease. The suction power doesn't diminish as the dirt bin fills. Its design is a breathable one and its air-sealed body captures allergens to keep your family healthy. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying bin, so you don't need additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's still great for tackling dirt and deep cleaning. It comes with two cameras in front that deliver live feeds to your smartphone. It also has one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It also has a big dustbin, long runtime and a speedy, bump-free clean-up.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it is able to switch between two heads, a standard and a turbo for different types of flooring. The turbo head is ideal for low-pile and high-pile carpeting and the standard powerhead works well on bare floors and lightweight carpets. It also has an automatic height adjustment system, which lets it easily adapt to various kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.

The model comes with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors as well as carpeting with a medium pile. The powerhead is also easy to move and can get into difficult spots. It comes with five levels of surface adjustment and a switch that lets you turn off the brushroll to avoid hairs getting caught in tangles.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll, an UtraClean mode that moves across the same area three times to ensure the best cleaning possible, and a self-emptying dustbin which can be filled with the push of the button. The volume of noise produced by this model is more pronounced than other models. However its powerful motor with 1,200 watts best robot vacuum and mop and sturdy construction are worth the additional cost.

If you're willing to spend a bit more it's worth it. Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-around canister robot vacuum that performs better on carpet than the Classic C1. It is more efficient on all floor types and feels more sturdy, and includes an HEPA filter.
